Tiqets, Klook to share content between platforms

Amsterdam-based tour and activity ticketing platform Tiqets and Hong Kong-based online tour and activity travel agency Klook are entering into a strategic partnership to connect their supply channels.

For Tiqets, this is the second collaboration in about two months with an Asia-based company, following its July announcement of an integration with Trip.com Group.

Both Tiqets and Klook were founded in 2014 and have grown to become two of the largest online travel agencies for attractions, tours and experiences. Klook also offers reservations for accommodation, transportation and dining experiences, but only its activities and attractions will be connected to Tiqets.

“What this underscores is that for both Klook and us, we have such a strong position, us in the US and Europe and them in Asia, and what we’ve both discovered is to focus on what we’re good at, deepen that and build that,” says Luuc Elzinga, founder and president of Tiqets.

With the integration, customers who book through Klook or Tiqets can book experiences offered by either platform, with instant ticketing and multiple languages and payment options, giving travelers more choice and providers more visibility.

“This partnership with Tiqets opens new doors for both groups of customers to enjoy seamless and instant access to the widest selection of attractions and experiences in Asia Pacific and Europe,” says Wilfred Fan, Chief Commercial Officer of Klook.

“Klook has gone from strength to strength during the pandemic and we have quadrupled the amount of activities on our platform in the last two years in anticipation of the recovery of travel. We will continue to work closely with our merchants to accelerate their recovery and reach more customers around the world.”

Both companies have seen a resurgence in bookings as the pandemic has continued. Tiqets says its bookings jumped 220% in Europe and the UK during the summer months, and Klook says its outgoing bookings grew 11x in the same period compared to the beginning of the year.
